The Last Goodbye ~ Part 2

Guess what? There's a music video of this song already on YouTube!
Apparently it's been there since the twenty-first of November. I had no idea!

I saw the light fade from the sky
On the wind I heard the sigh
As the snowflakes cover my fallen brothers
I will say this last goodbye

Night is now falling, so ends this day
The road is now calling and I must away
Over hill and under tree
Through lands where never light has shone
By silver streams that run down to the sea
Under cloud beneath the stars
Over snow and winter’s morn
I turn at last to paths that lead home

And though where the road then takes me
I cannot tell
We came all this way, but now comes the day
To bid you farewell

Many places I have been
Many sorrows I have seen
But I don’t regret, nor will I forget
All who took that road with me

Night is now falling, so ends this day
The road is now calling and I must away
Over hill and under tree
Through lands where never light has shone
By silver streams that run down to the sea
To these memories I will hold
With your blessing I will go
To turn at last to paths that lead home

And though where the road then takes me
I cannot tell
We came all this way, but now comes the day
To bid you farewell

I bid you all
a very fond
farewell

Some of my readers (ahem ahem) may be ready to point out that this is the shortest and least intelligent post on this blog. :] However, I've drawn attention to it for you, sparing you the effort (or perhaps the opportunity?) of doing so. :D
Thanks for stopping by this morning, Nathanael!

Having now updated this post with the song's lyrics, it may no longer be the shortest post on this blog. Unfortunately, the addition of poetry composed by another does not raise the level of intelligence of the "written by Zoe" portion... (I could make a LotR joke at this point, but I fear 'tis the sort that would make sense only inside my head... so never mind.)

this definitely counts as a message!

umm...

it is worth noting that a certain reader on this blog (AHEM AHEM!)
is complete chocolate maniac!

Guess what, someone cannot watch this!
guess you will have to sing it to me over the phone...just joking, you are not that cruel.

It does?!
Is that false flattery?
Are you serious?
{at a loss here}

I didn't know you were a chocolate maniac too! - Or are you referring only to me? Yep, that's definitely an accurate statement!

Oof, Thanael! That's... too hilariously funny! - and too close to the truth for comfort. :] Touché!

Okayyyy so, I apologize SO MUCH for my absence from your blog, Zoe!!!!! I promise, I've read every post you've written between my last comment and now, but time has escaped me for an opportunity to comment. Anyway, just wanted to say that I absolutely *adore* this song... yay for posting it!! ;D

Have you seen BOTFA yet???

Hello, Beth, thanks so much for commenting!!!
Thy apology is accepted with a right good will - along with a plea for pardon on my part in neglecting to comment on yours!
Yes, we saw the two and a half hours of epic awesomeness yesterday! It was... great! There'll be a post describing that experience over on the other blog - eventually. :]

oh good, I have been noticed

Zoë said...

Right, because *my* notice counts for naught? ;P

Hehe. Awesome!! I loved it (aside from a few things that weren't quiiiite perfect), and it completely broke my heart. And now I'm super excited for the Extended Edition -- I'm sure that will be even better. :D

Why is it that we like having our hearts broken?

You know, I was actually wanting to hear this song at the theatre, but 10 words into the verse, Isaac said we had to leave. :/
